My expertise Iies within the pre-clinical, clinical and regulatory aspects of AIMDS. I was involved in all the developmental stages, from concept to pre-clinical evaluations leading to First in Man Trials of a novel implantable device for the treatment of urinary incontinence in men and women.

Leigh Martin
Leigh Martin is a 4th year medical student at Oregon Health & Science University who recently matched into Urology residency. She has a passion for equity and mentorship which has led to her publishing research on gender equity and starting the medical student committee for the Society of Women in Urology.
Nathan Grunewald, MD
Nathan Grunewald, MD, FACS is the Chief Innovation Officer and board certified Urologic Surgeon at Sauk Prairie Healthcare, a rural independent community health system in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. His primary clinical focus is general Urology. In his clinical work, Grunewald champions the needs of the 20% of U.S. citizens relying on rural health facilities and the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. As Innovation Officer, he is charged with championing innovation across the health system. Recognized by the American Urological Association as a Young Urologist of the Year in 2021.
Dr. Grunewald completed his undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Medical Microbiology and Business. He then spent 7 years working in the private sector focused on energy consulting followed by educational research and development work. He received his medical degree and completed his urologic surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is scheduled to complete his Masters in Business Administration in May 2023.
Julian Pacheco
Julian Pacheco is a fourth year medical student at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Chicago Campus. Upon graduation he will be joining the University of Illinois at Chicago Department of Urology for residency.
Bishoy Gayed, MD
Bishoy A. Gayed, MD is an assistant professor of urology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City. Dr. Gayed completed his residency in urology at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He has helped initiate the Diversity, Equity, and inclusion program at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Urology. The program has helped bring awareness to current cultural issues to the residents and faculty and has allowed for thoughtful discussions of how to alleviate these issues in medicine and the community.
